Coriander Thuvaiyal | Coriander Leaves Thogayal | மல்லித்தழை துவையல்

Coriander Thokku

Ingredients :

Coriander Thokku Ingredients

Coriander Leaves - 1 bunch (chopped)
Coconut - 50 gm (chopped)
Black Gram (skinless) \ Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Tamarind - 1" ball size
Garlic - 5 nos
Curry leaves - 1 stks
Dry Red Chili - 3 nos
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stks
Oil - 1 tsp


Steps To Make Coriander Leaves Thuvaiyal :
  • Heat a tsp of oil in a pan, add corriander leaves and tamarind, saute till the leaves shrink and devoid of moisture. Allow to cool completely and keep aside.
  • Similarly heat a tsp of oil in a same pan, add urad dal \ black gram (skinless), asafoetida and dry red chili, saute untill the aroma arises and urad dal colour will change into golden brown. Allow it cool completely and keep aside.
  • Again heat a tsp of oil in a same pan, roast coconut and garlic, saute for an minute or untill slightly colour change. Allow it cool completely and keep aside.
  • Grind coarsely black Gram, asafoetida and red chili, then add coconut and garlic, again grind coarsely and finally add coriander leaves, tamarind and required salt, grind it together and keep aside.
  • Finally temper, mustard seeds and curry leaves with a tsp of oil, after splutter add ground paste, saute for an minute and ready to serve.

    Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Dosa or  Idli.
