Simple Mushroom Fry | Deep Fried Mushroom | Kaalaan Varuval Recipe - This is also one of my favorite dish. It goes well with the sambar rice, tomato brinji, curd rice and dal rice. We make usually once in a month. It is made with very simple ingredients only. Now lets see how to make this simple mushroom fry with easy step by step images and instructions.

Ingredients :

Mushroom - 200 gm (washed, quarters)
Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1\2 tsp
Cornflour - 2 tsp + 2 tsp
Maida - 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Salt To Taste
Oil for deep fry
Method :
In a mixing bowl add the mushroom, red chili powder, garam masala, two teaspoon of cornflour, maida, ginger garlic paste and required salt, mix well and marinate for five to ten minutes. Also don’t add water. Heat enough oil to deep the mushroom. Then toss the marinated mushroom with the remaining cornflour (+ or -) and deep fry in the hot oil immediately until golden brown color and serve hot.
My Notes: Use fresh mushroom. Cornflour tossing step helps to turn the mushroom into crunchiness.

Simple mushroom fry required ingredients are shown in above image. Mushroom absorb water easily so wash them quickly, drain the water will and then cut into 4 pieces.

To make the mushroom | kaalan fry, in a mixing bowl add the quartered mushrooms, red chili powder, garam masala, two teaspoon of cornflour, maida, ginger garlic paste and required salt, mix well and marinate for five to ten minutes. Water is not required to mix. Then heat enough oil in a kadhai to deep the mushroom. When the oil turns hot, parallely toss the marinated mushroom with the cornflour (above image) and deep fry in the hot oil immediately until golden brown color and serve hot else it turns soft.

Serving Suggestion: Serve the mushroom with the sambar rice, dal rice or curd rice.
