Crispy Rava Dosai | Semolina Dosa - south Indian special rava dosai recipe, is one of the common breakfast | tiffin at most of the homes. Specialty of this rava dosai is, we don't need to ferment the batter, just soak the rava, then mix with the mentioned ingredients and make dosai. Also the batter consistency is watery, then only you get crispy texture. It is made with the main ingredients of rava, rice flour and maida. It is crispy and soft, also very easy to make with available ingredients. It has unique taste and flavour. I love the whole pepper and chili bite. I happy to share one of my favorite rava dosai to all now. Now lets see how to make this crispy rava dosai with easy step by step images and instructions.

Ingredients :

Rava | Semolina - 1 cup
Rice Flour - 1/2 cup
Maida - 1 cup
Onion - 1 nos (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 nos (finely chopped)
Whole Pepper - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Coriander - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Water - 4 cups
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to Taste.
Method :
Soak the rava with two cups of water for thirty minutes.
Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the onion and green chili, saute for an minute or till the onion turns slightly golden colour.
To make the rava dosai batter mixture, in a mixing bowl, add the soaked rava with its water, rice flour, maida, sauteed onion, green chili, pepper, cumin seeds, asafoetida, coriander leaves, curry leaves, remaining water and required salt. Mix all together without lumps. This batter is watery only.
To make the rava dosai, heat the iron tawa, make rava dosa and cook over high flame on both side and serve hot.
Notes: Rava dosai batter is watery only. Cook the dosa on high flame for crunchy texture.

Preparations, first soak the rava with two cups of water for thirty minutes and keep aside. Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the onion and green chili, saute till the onion turns slightly golden colour or its raw smell leaves.
To make the rava dosai batter, take a mixing bowl, add the soaked rava with its water, maida, rice flour, sauteed onion, green chili, whole pepper, cumin seeds, asafoetida, coriander leaves, curry leaves, remaining water and required salt. Mix well and the rava dosai batter is ready.
To make the rava dosai, heat the tawa, turn the flame into lower, pour required rava batter in a circle, then turn the flame into high and cook. When the sides turn crunchy, flip and cook further. Do the same for the remaining batter. Serve hot.
