Ingredients : |
Arai Keerai - 1\2 bunch (cleaned and washed) |
Sambar Onion - 1\2 cup |
Tomato - 1 cup |
Garlic - 10 cloves |
Green Chili - 2 no |
Oil - 2 tsp |
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 tsp |
Urad Dal - 1\4 tsp |
Sambar Onion - 1 tbsp (finely chopped) |
Dry Red Chili - 2 no |
Salt - as required. |
Method : |
In a pressure cooker pan, add the arai keerai, sambar onion, tomato, garlic, green chili and quarter cup of water. |
Cover and pressure cook for one whistle over high flame and two to three minutes over simmer. |
When all the steam has released, open the pan and cool the keerai mixture completely. |
Grind the cooked keerai coarsely with required salt. |
To temper, heat the oil in a pan, temper the mustard seeds and urad dal. Add the sambar onion and dry red chili, saute till the onion turns slightly golden colour. |
Add the temper ingredients into keerai mixture, mix well and the arai keerai masiyal is ready. |
Notes: Don't need to add more water to cook the keerai mixture. Always open the pressure cooker pan, after the steam released. |
