Andhra Style Hot and Sour Fish Curry


Ingredients :

Andhra Style Hot and Sour Fish Curry

Red Snapper / Sankara Fish - 500 gm
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato - 2 no
Green Chili - 3 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Tamarind - 2 cup (2" ball size)
Garlic - 7 cloves
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 3 tbsp
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Salt to taste.

Method :



  • In a bowl, combine tamarind water, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, tomato and required salt, mix well and smash all by using hand and keep aside. (shown in above image)


Steps To Make Fish Curry :
  • Heat oil in a utensil, roast the  fenugreek, add onion, garlic, green chili and curry leaves, saute til light golden brown colour.



  • Add tamarind mixture, bring to boil and cook for 5min in medium flame or until raw smell leaves. 
  • Add cleaned fish pieces, bring to boil and cook for 5min in medium flame. Ready to serve.



Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Onion Fish Fry or Spicy Lemon Fish Fry.
