Green Peas and Mint Gravy


Ingredients :

Green Peas and Mint Gravy Ingredients

Dried Green Peas - 1cup (soaked overnight)
Mint Leaves - 1 cup 
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato - 3 nos (chopped)
Cloves - 5 nos
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Coriander Leaves - Garnish (chopped)
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

  • Pressure cook the soaked peas for 1 whistle and 2 to 3min in simmer with turmeric powder and required salt. When all the steam has escaped, open the pressure cooker pan and keep aside.
  • Mean time, grind the mint leaves into fine paste with required water and keep aside. 
Steps To Make Dried Green Peas Mint Gravy :
  • Roast the cloves in hot oil in a kadai \ frying pan.
  • Add onion and saute until light golden brown colour.
  • Add tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes becomes tender.
  • Add mint leaves paste and mix well.
  • Add red chili powder and coriander powder, saute for few seconds.
  • Pour water and add required salt, mix well and bring to boil.
  • Add cooked peas and cook for 3 - 5min until thick gravy consistency, finally add coriander leaves and ready to serve.

Green Peas and Mint Gravy

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Chapati or Poori.
