Plantain Leaf Adai

Ingredients :

Plantain Leaf Adai Ingredients

Plantain Leaf - 2 no

For Outer Covering :

Rice Flour - 1 cup
Required Water
Salt - 1 pinch.

For Filling :

Grated Coconut - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp (mix Cardamom with Jaggery)

Method :



  • First turn on stove and show the leaf one by one over the flame on both sides for 5sec. So the leaf will flexible well as shown in image.
  • Then cut the plantain Leaf into rectangle and keep aside.


For Outer Covering Batter :
  • Combine rice flour and salt, mix well with required water in a Idli batter consistency, it should not be free flowing and not too solid.

Method to Prepare Adai :

 

  • Spread a leaf and take a spoon full of batter and spread it across the leaf as shown in above image.
  • Then spread coconut and jaggery on half side as shown in above image.


  • Fold the plantain leaf from top and keep aside.
  • Repeat the same procedure for rest of the leaf.
  • Steam in pressure cooker ( don't use Whistle) or Idli Pot for 10 to 15min, and ready to serve.


Serving Suggestion : Can serve as Breakfast.
