Curd Green Peas Gravy Recipe


Ingredients :

Curd Green Peas Gravy Recipe Ingredients

Dried Green Peas - 1 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curd - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 no
Tomato - 3 no
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp + Garnish
Oil / Butter - 2 tbsp
Water - 1 cup + 1/2 cup
Salt to taste.

Method :
 
Steps To Pressure Cook Dried Green Peas :
  • First soak the dried green peas for overnight.
  • Pressue cook the soaked peas with 1 cup of water, required salt and turmeric powder for 1 whistle and 3min in simmer. When all the steam has escaped open pressure cooker pan and ready to use.
  • No need to soak fresh green peas.


  • Grind the onion coarsely and keep side.
  • Then grind the tomato into fine paste and keep aside separately.


Steps To Make Curd Green Peas Gravy :
  • Heat oil / butter in a kadai / pan, saute the ground onion until its becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute until its raw smell leaves.
  • Add ground tomato paste and saute until its moisture has reduced completely.


  • Add red chili powder and coriander powder, saute til its raw smell leaves.
  • Now add beaten curd and stir well for few seconds.
  • Pour half cup of water and add required salt, mix well.


  • Bring to boil, add boiled green peas with its water or fresh green peas and garam masala, mix well and cook for an minute.
  • Finally garnish with coriander leaves and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Chapati or Naan or Poori.
