Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry / Murungai Keerai Poriyal


Ingredients :

Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry / Murungai Keerai Poriyal Ingredients

Drumstick Leaves / Murungai Keerai - 1 bunch (washed)
Shallot / Sambar Onion  - 1/2 cup (chopped)
(or) Onion -1 no (chopped)
Grated Coconut - 3 tbsp
Garlic - 5 Cloves (crushed)
Water - 1/4 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Black Gram (skinless) / Urad Dal -  1/4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 2 no (slit)

Method :

Steps To Make Drumstick Leaves | Murungai Keerai Poriyal :
  • First to temper, heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add dry red chili, onion and garlic, stir well and cook til the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add drumstick leaves, mix well and cook over medium flame.
  • Add required salt and sprinkle water, mix well and cook til the water has reduced completely.
  • Finally add grated coconut, mix well and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Sambar, Village Sambar or Tomato Curry.
