Recipe :
Kaara Chutney | Chinna Vengayam Chutney | Simple Shallots Chutney
வெங்காய கார சட்னி
Small Onion / Sambar Onion - 250 gm (de-skinned)
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Tamarind - 1 " size ball
Oil - 1 tbsp
Crystal Salt or Salt to taste.
To Temper :
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp |
Method :
Steps To Make Onion Chutney :
- Heat oil in a pan and roast dry red chili.
- Add onion, saute and cook
until the onion becomes golden brown colour.
- Add tamarind and saute for an minute, remove from flame and allow to cool completely.
- Then grind coarsely with required salt and keep aside.

- Now temper mustard seeds and urad dal with a tsp of hot oil in a pan, after splutter add ground onion paste, mix well and saute for few seconds and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Dosa, Idly or Vada. |
