Chettinad Hot Pepper Chicken | செட்டிநாடு கார சார கோழிக்கறி மிளகு வதக்கல் | Kaara Saara Kozhi Kari Milagu Vathakkal

Hot Pepper Chicken

Ingredients :

Hot Pepper Chicken Ingredients

Chicken - 350gm
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 no (slit lengthwise)
Crushed Ginger & Garlic - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1/2 fruit
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stks
Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste.
To Roast and Grind into Powder :

Peppercorns - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp

Method :

  • Dry roast the mentioned ingredients, allow to cool completely and grind into fine powder, keep aside.

Steps To Make Chettinad Hot Pepper Chicken :
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan / kadai, roast the fennel seeds.
  • Add in onion and green chili, saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.

  • Add ginger garlic and curry leaves, saute until its raw smell leaves.
  • Add in chicken pieces and turmeric powder, saute until the chicken moisture has reduced completely.

  • Add water and required salt, cover the lid and cook for 10 to 15 Min's in medium flame or until the water has reduced.
  • Open the lid, add coriander leaves and lemon juice, saute for few seconds.
  • Finally add roasted-ground powder, saute for an minute in simmer and ready to serve.

Hot Pepper Chicken

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Naan, Chapathi or Chicken Curry
