Ingredients :

Ivy Gourd Stir Fry / Kovakkai Poriyal - 250 gm (washed, thinly sliced)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

Steps To Make Kovakkai Poriyal :
  • Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard seeds and urad dal.
  • After splutter add onion and curry leaves, saute and cook until onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add ivy gourd, stir well and cook for 10 min in medium flame.
  • Finally add red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder and required salt, mix well and cook for 2 min until raw smell leaves, ready to serve.

 Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar and Dal Rice.
