Masala Dosa / Dosai / Thosai - Potato Stuff


Ingredients :

Masala Dosa / Dosai / Thosai - Potato Stuff Ingredients

Potato - 250 gm (boiled, skin peeled off, smashed)
Onion - 1 no (or Shallots - 1/2 cup / 100gm) (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 no (chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 3 stk
Water - 3/4 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1 tsp
Gram Dal / Kadalai Paruppu - 1 tsp

Method :


Learn how to make Potato Masala Dosa Stuff :
  • Heat oil in a kadai, temper mustard seeds after splutter add urad dal / black gram (skinless) and gram dal, saute until slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add onion and curry leaves, saute til the onion becomes light golden colour.
  • Add green chili and ginger garlic paste, saute until its raw smell leaves.


  • Add turmeric powder and saute for few seconds.
  • Pour water and add required salt, mix well and bring to boil.
  • Add smashed potatoes, cook for 5min or until in a little thick consistency.
  • Add coriander leaves, mix well and remove from the flame.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar and Coconut Chutney.
