Ponnanganni Keerai / Dwarf Copperleaf / Sessil Joyweed Greens


Ingredients :

Ponnanganni Keerai / Dwarf Copperleaf / Sessil Joyweed Greens Ingredients

Ponnanganni Keerai / Dwarf Copper leaf - 2 cups (cleaned and washed)
Small Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped) or Onion - 1 no
Garlic - 5 Clove (crushed)
Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
Red Chili - 2 no (split into two)
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp

Method :


Steps To Make Ponnanganni Keerai Poriyal :
  • First temper mustard and urad dal / black gram (skinless) in hot oil in a kadai \ pan, after splutter add onion, garlic and red chili, saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.


  • Add in ponnanganni keerai / dwarf copper leaf green with required salt, stir well and cook for about 5 - 7 minute in simmer.


  • Finally add coconut shreds, mix well and remove from the flame. Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot it Sambar or Dal Rice.
