Bitter Gourd Poriyal | பாகற்காய் பொரியல் | Pagarkai Poriyal - Method 1


Simple Bitter Gourd / Pavakkai Poriyal


Ingredients :

Simple Bitter Gourd / Pavakkai Poriyal Ingredients

Bitter Gourd / Pavakkai - 200gm (de-seeded, chopped)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :


Steps To Make Bitter Gourd Poriyal :
  • Heat oil in a pan, add onion and curry leaves, saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add bitter gourd / pavakkai and saute for about 10 minute in simmer.


  • Add in red chili powder, turmeric powder and required salt, saute for 5min or until done and ready to serve.


Serving Suggestion : Serve with Dal Rice or Sambar or Curd.
