Simple Green Lima Beans / Pachai Mochai Payaru Poriyal 


Ingredients :

Simple Green Lima Beans / Pachai Mochai Payaru Poriyal Ingredients

Fresh Green Lima Beans / Mocha Kottai - 250 gm (skinless)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp

Method :


Steps To Make Pachai Mochai Payaru Poriyal :
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker pan, temper mustard seeds and urad dal / black gram (skinless), after splutter add the onion and curry leaves, saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add in mocha kottai (green lima beans), red chili powder, turmeric powder and required salt, saute for an minute or until its raw smell leaves.

 

  • Add water and cover the lid, cook for 1 whistle and 5min in simmer.  
  • When all the steam has escaped, open the pressure cooker pan lid and saute for about two minute or until the water has reduced completely. Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar or Dal and Rasam
