Idli is a round, fluffy bread. Its made from ground rice or rice Flour mixed with ground urad dal / black gram (skinless) , fenu Greek, salt and water.
Then the mixture is allowed to ferment piror to being steamed in an idli steamer.
Grease one or more idli / idly pans well with ghee or vegetable oil (or) use wet white cloth.
Spoon the batter into the round indentations of the idli / idly pans.
Steam for 10 - 15 mins. To remove the idli / idly from the white cloth pans, pour little water around each idli / idly and then remove easily. Use sharp knife or thin spatula to remove Idli/Idly directly from pan.
Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar and Coconut Chutney.
