Traditional Rava / Semolina / Sooji Paniyaram


Ingredients :

Traditional Rava / Semolina / Sooji Paniyaram Ingredients

Rava / Semolina / Sooji - 100 gm
Maida (All Purpose Flour) - 100 gm
Sugar - 100 gm
Crushed Cardamon - 3 no pod (or powder)
Water - 300 ml (+ or -)
Oil for deep fry.

Note: Weight and Cup measurements are not same.

Method :


Steps To Make Traditional Rava Paniyaram :
  • In a bowl, combine rava/semolina/sooji, maida, sugar and cardamon powder, mix altogether.
  • Add water little by little and stir continuously to avoid lumps, in a idly batter consistency. Let it soak for 15min.


  • Meantime heat oil in a kadai, turn the flame into medium, use ladle to take a scoop of paniyaram batter and drop them in the hot oil , wait for few seconds until it floats in oil (cook on medium flame only), then pour another scoop of batter one by one, cook on both side until golden brown colour and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Crispy Buttern Murukku and Coconut Rava Laddu or Cucumber Seeds Laddu
