Village Style Hot and Sour Fish Curry - Sole Fish / Tongue Sole / Naaku Meen


Ingredients :

Village Style Hot and Sour Fish Curry - Sole Fish / Tongue Sole / Naaku Meen Ingredients

Sole Fish / Tongue Sole / Naakku Meen - 250 gm
Tamarind - 2 " ball size
Green Chili - 2 no (chopped, 2" long)
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Water - 2 cup
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Grind into Coarsely Paste :

Small Onion - 1 cup (or) Onion - 2 no (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Garlic - 8 clove
Red Chili Powder - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp

Method :


Steps To Make Village Style Hot and Sour Fish Curry :
  • First soak tamarind for half an hour in a cup of water, extract pulp and keep aside.
  • Grind the mentioned ingredients in to coarse paste and keep aside.


  • Now in a cooking pan, add coarsely ground paste, green chili and curry leaves.
  • Then pour the tamarind water, required salt and a cup of water, mix well.


  • Now only heat  pan, cook for 5 min until the curry starts boiling and raw smell leaves.
  • Finally add the fish pieces and oil, mix carefully lightly.
  • Cover the lid and cook for another 5 min and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve Hot with Spicy Fried Sole Fish, Sankara Fish Fry, Onion Fish Fry and Spicy Lemon Fish Fry.
