Hot and Sour Pomfret Fish Curry with Green Mango


Ingredients :

Hot and Sour Pomfret Fish Curry with Green Mango

Pomfret \ Vaval Fish - 250 gm
Green Mango - 1/2 no (chopped into 2" long)
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (2" ball size)
Coconut Paste - 2 tbsp
Large Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 no (slit)
Red Chili Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Hot and Sour Pomfret Fish Curry with Green Mango

  • Heat Oil in a Pan, add Onion and saute until light golden brown colour.
  • Add Tomato, Green Chili and Curry Leaves, saute until Tomato smash well. 
  • Add Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder and Turmeric powder, saute until raw smell leaves.

  • Add Coconut Paste, saute for few seconds.
  • Add Tamarind Water and Water, bring to boil.
  • Add Green Mango Pieces and close the lid, cook for 3-5 mins in medium flame.

  • Finally add Fish pieces and again close the lid, cook for 3-5 mins in medium flame.
  • Turn off the stove and Open lid after 5mins, in this stage the Oil starts collect and float at top and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Spicy Fried Sole Fish / Tongue Sole / Naaku Meen or Red Snapper / Sankara Fish Fry
