Idiyappam / String Hopper


Idiyappam


Ingredients :

Idiyappam

Raw Rice Flour - 2 cups
Boiling Water - 2 and 1/2 cup (+ or  - )
Required Salt.

Method :

  • First boil the water with required salt.

Idiyappam

  • To make the idiyappam dough, mix the rice flour with required boiling water, knead into a soft dough in a non-sticky consistency.
  • To steam the idiyappam, grease one or more idli / idly plates well with vegetable oil (or) use wet cloth.
  • Then fill the idiyappam / string hopper maker and make idiyappam, keep aside. (show in above image).

Idiyappam

  • Boil two inches of water in a idly pan, then arrange prepared idly plates and steam for 10 - 15 mins (+ or -).
  • Ready to serve.

Idiyappam

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Fresh Sweet Coconut Milk or Fresh Coconut Shred and sugar.
