Simple Country Chicken Gravy / Nattu Kozhi Gravy


Ingredients :

Simple Country Chicken Gravy / Nattu Kozhi Gravy Ingredients

Country Chicken / Nattu Kozhi - 250 gm (chopped)
Small Onion / Shallots - 1 cup (or) Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Peppercorn Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut Paste - 1 tbsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Coriander Leaves - Garnish
Oil - 2 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Simple Country Chicken Gravy / Nattu Kozhi Gravy

Steps To Make Country Chicken Gravy :
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker pan, add onion and country chicken pieces, saute til the chicken moisture has reduced completely.
  • Add red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, peppercorn powder and garam masala powder (optional), saute until the raw smell leaves completely.


  • Add coconut paste, pour water and required salt, mix well and close the lid, cook for 1 whistle and 15mins in simmer.
  • When all the steam has escaped, open the lid, mix well and garnish with coriander leaves and ready to serve.


Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Idly or Dosa or White Rice
