Carrots Potatoes and Peas Poriyal with Coconut Milk


Ingredients :

Carrots Potatoes and Peas Poriyal with Coconut Milk

Carrots - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Potatoes - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Fresh Green Peas - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Thick Coconut Milk - 3/4 cup
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

Carrots Potatoes and Peas Poriyal with Coconut Milk

  • Heat Oil in a Pressure Cooker Pan, add Mustard Seeds and Urad Dal, after splutter add Onion and Curry leaves, saute until light golden brown.
  • Add Carrots, Potatoes and Peas, saute for few seconds.
  • Then add Red Chili Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder, Turmeric Powder, Garam Masala and required Salt, saute until raw smell leaves.

  • Add Coconut Milk and stir well.
  • Close the lid and cook for 1 whistle, when all the steam has escaped open Pressure Cooker and saute until there should not be Water and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar or Dal or Curd.
