Shahi Chicken Gravy


Ingredients :

Shahi Chicken Gravy

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Curd - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Coconut Shred - 3 tbsp
Badam / Almond - 10 nos
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Poppy Seeds - 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 3/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger & Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves for Garnish
Oil or Ghee - 3 tbsp
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • First Roast Badam, Cumin Seeds, Poppy Seeds and Coconut Shred separately. Let it cool.
  • Also fry Onion with 2 tsp of Oil until golden brown and let it cool.

Shahi Chicken Gravy

  • Now first grind roasted Almond and Cumin Seeds into powder, then add Coconut Shred, grind into fine paste with required Water and keep aside.

  • Then grind fried Onion in to paste.

  • Now heat Oil in a pan, add Ginger & Garlic Paste, saute until raw smell Leaves, then add fried Onion paste saute for 1 minute.
  • Then add Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder and Turmeric Powder, saute until raw smell leaves.
  • Add (Badam, Poppy Seeds, Cumin Seeds and Coconut) ground paste and saute for 1 minute.
  • Then add Curd and saute until Oil separates from gravy.

  • Then add Chicken Pieces and saute until there should not be Water.
  • Then add Water, cook for 1/2 an hour in medium flame and Finally garnish with Coriander Leaves and Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Rice or Chapati or Parotta
