Simple Red Rice Flour Puttu


Ingredients :

Simple Red Rice Flour Puttu

Red Rice Flour - 2 cup ( dry roasted)
Grated Coconut - 1 cup
Cardamom - 2 pod (crushed or powder)
Sugar to taste 
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Water - 1/2 cup (+ or -).

How To Make Homemade Red Rice Flour for Puttu :
  • First clean and wash the red rice, soak them for 1/2 an hour, then strain the water and spread over on white cloth or thick tissue paper for overnight to absorb all moisture.
  • Then grind into coarsely. (i like fine powder)
  • Then dry roast the ground red rice flour for an minute to avoid its raw smell and ready to use.
  • Store in a air-tight container.

Steps To Make Red Rice Flour Puttu :
  • In a bowl, combine the red rice flour with  required salt. (Don't forget to roast Home-made Red Rice Flour)
  • Sprinkle water little by little and mix well until in a crumble texture.

  • Then steam in idly pan for 10 min in medium flame.

  • Then transfer into a bowl, mix with coconut shreds, required sugar and cardamon powder, ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Banana.
