Ingredients :

Drumstick Leaves Kootu / Murungai Keerai Kottu
Drumstick Leaves | Murungai Keerai - 1 bunch (washed)
Toor Dal | Thuvaram Paruppu - 1\2 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Water - 1 cup and 1\2 cup
Shallots | Sambar Onion - 15 no + 1 no (chopped)
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1\2 tsp
Crushed Garlic - 3 cloves
Coconut Paste - 3 tbsp
Salt To Taste
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1\4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 2 no
Oil - 1 tsp + 2 tsp

Steps To Make The Simple Drumstick Leaves Kootu | Murungai Keerai Kootu:

First pressure cook the toor dal with the turmeric powder, teaspoon of oil and water for an whistle and three minutes over simmer.
When all the steam has released, open the pan, add the drumstick leaves, shallots, cumin seeds powder, garlic, coconut paste and required salt, mix well altogether. Then again pressure cook for an whistle.
In the meantime, temper the mustard seeds and urad dal in two teaspoon of hot oil, after splutter add the dry red chili, mix well and keep aside. Once the steam has escaped from pressure cooker pan, add the tempered ingredients into the kootu mixture, mix well and serve.

Serving Suggestion: Serve hot with Crispy Baby Corn Finger Fry.
