Simple Okra / Bhindi / Lady's Finger Poriyal



Ingredients :

Simple Okra / Bhindi / Lady's Finger Poriyal

Okra / Vendakkai - 500gm (washed & wiped with cloth or tissue, then finely chopped)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Onion - 2 no (chopped)
Coconut Shreds - 3 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 nos (slit)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste. 

Method :

Simple Okra / Bhindi / Lady's Finger Poriyal

  • First to temper, heat Oil in a Kadai, add Mustard Seeds and Urad Dal, after splutter add Onion, Curry Leaves and Dry Red Chili, saute until light golden colour.
  • Add Okra / Vendakkai and Turmeric Powder, saute for 5 to 7mins in medium flame until full cook.

  • Add Coconut, stir well then turn off flame and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar.
