Ingredients :

Palak / Spinach - 1 bunch (remove stem)
Paneer / Cottage Cheese - 200 gm (chop into 1" long)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato Puree - 4 nos
Green Chili - 2 nos
Ginger & Garlic - 1 tsp (crushed)
Red Chili Powder - 3/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Fresh Cream - 3 tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
Water - 1 cup (+ or -)
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • First to make Palak / Spinach paste, blanch it for 2mins in hot water with Sugar.
  • Then rinse with water.
  • Then grind into fine paste with Green Chili and keep aside.

  • Now to make Gravy, grind Onion into paste and saute with Butter until light golden brown.
  • Add Ginger & Garlic paste, until raw smell leaves.

  • Add Tomato Puree (blanch in hot water for 5mins, peel off outer skin, cool it and grind into fine paste) and saute for an minute with little salt.
  • Add Red Chili Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder, Garam Masala and Turmeric Powder, saute until raw smell leaves.
  • Add Palak / Spinach paste and saute for an minute.

  • Add Water and required Salt, cook for 3 to 5 mins in medium flame.
  • Now add Paneer pieces and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, turn off flame.
  • Finally add Fresh Cream and Coriander Leaves, mix well and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Puri / Poori, Chapathi or Naan
