Black Sesame Seeds Chutney | Karuppu Ellu Thuvaiyal / Thogayal | கருப்பு எள்ளு துவையல்


Ingredients :

Black Sesame Seeds Chutney | Karuppu Ellu Thuvaiyal / Thogayal | கருப்பு எள்ளு துவையல்

Black Sesame Seeds / Ellu / Til - 50 gm
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Coconut - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Tamarind - 1" long
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 nos
Water - required
Salt to taste.

Method :

Steps To Make Sesame | Ellu Chutney :
  • Dry roast the sesame seeds in hot kadai \ frying pan and keep aside.
  • Then heat oil in that same kadai \ frying pan, add urad dal, asafoetida and dry red chili, saute til light brown colour.
  • Add in coconut and tamarind, saute for about an minute, remove from the flame and allow to cool them completely.

  • Then grind the all roasted ingredients into paste with required salt and required water and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Idly or Dosa
