Capsicum Gravy with Cauliflower | Kudai-Milagai Cauliflower Gravy | குடை-மிளகாய் பூ-கோசு கிரேவி



Ingredients :

Capsicum Gravy with Cauliflower | Kudai-Milagai Cauliflower Gravy | குடை-மிளகாய் பூ-கோசு கிரேவி

Capsicum - 1/2 no (1" cube)
Cauliflower - 1/2 cup (blanched in hot water)
Onion - 1/2 no (1" cube)
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 tsp 
Butter - 1 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt to taste.

To Roast & Grind into Paste :

Capsicum - 1/2 no (chopped)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Coriander - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Ginger - 1" long
Garlic - 7 Cloves
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • First to roast and grind into paste, heat Oil in a kadai, add Onion, Ginger and Garlic, saute until light brown colour.
  • Add Capsicum and saute for an minute.
  • Add Tomato and little Salt, again saute for an minute.
  • Then add Red Chili Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder and Turmeric Powder, saute until raw smell leaves.
  • Finally add Coriander leaves, saute for few seconds, remove from flame, cool it.
  • Then grind into fine paste and keep aside.

  • Now to make gravy, heat Butter in a kadai, add Fennel Seeds, after splutter add Onion, saute for few seconds.
  • Add Capsicum and saute for an minute.
  • Then add Cauliflower (blanched in hot water) and again saute for 1/2 a minute.
  • Add ground paste, required Salt and Sugar, saute for few seconds.
  • Finally add Water, bring to boil, cook for 5mins in simmer, stirring frequently, til gravy consistency and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Chapathi or Naan or Poori
