About The Recipe :


Easy Bengali Rasgulla, is made from the homemade paneer \ chenna \ Indian cottage cheese balls and cooked in the sugar syrup.

Ingredients :

Cow's Milk - 1 litre
Lemon Juice - 1 no (or Vinegar - 2 tbsp)
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Water - 3/4 cup
Rose Water - 1 tsp
Food Colour - Yellow , Orange (optional)
Rava / Semolina - 1 tbsp 
Method :

  • To make the paneer, first boil the milk, then add lemon juice or vinegar, mix well for few seconds until the milk curdle fully also whey water will separate completely and then remove from flame. (show in above image 1 & 2 )
  • Strain all the whey using a clean damp muslin cloth or thin cotton cloth and rinse with cold water. (shown in image 3)
  • Gather the cloth from all the 4 sides and squeeze out all excess water. Then knead with rava / semolina for 15mins using hand till very soft and free of lumps. (shown in image 4)
  • Divide the dough into 3 parts and add food colour into it (optional, shown in image 5)
  • Then roll into 1" ball size and keep aside. (shown in image 6)

  • Now to make Sugar syrup, heat the water and sugar, bring to boil till sugar dissolves. (shown in image 7)
  • Then add the rolled balls and cook for 5 to 7mins in simmer till double the size. (shown in image 8 and 9).
  • Ready to serve.
