Fried Mini Idly | Fried Chilli Mini Idly with Tomato Ketchup | மினி இட்லி மசாலா வறுவல்


Ingredients :

Fried Mini Idly | Fried Chilli Mini Idly with Tomato Ketchup | மினி இட்லி மசாலா வறுவல்

Mini Idly - 3 plates  (54 mini idlys) (click here : how to make Idly)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 1 no (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic - 1 tsp (crushed)
Sugar - 1 tsp
Red Chili Paste - 1 tsp (boiled and ground with vinegar)
Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
Mint and Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Oil for deep fry + 2 tsp
Water - 1/4 cup
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • First deep fry mini Idly/Idli until crispy and golden brown colour. Keep aside.

  • Then temper Mustard Seeds and Urad dal with 2 tsp of Oil. Add Onion, Green Chili and Curry Leaves, saute til light brown colour.
  • Add crushed Ginger Garlic and saute until raw smell leaves.
  • Then add Red Chili paste and stir well for few seconds.
  • Add Tomato Ketchup and again stir well for few seconds.

  • Add Water and Sugar, bring to boil.
  • Then add fried Idlys / Idlis and saute til dry.
  • Finally add Mint and Coriander Leaves, mix well.
  • Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot.
