Carrot Poli | Sweet Carrot Stuffed Boli | Sweet Carrot Puran boli | கேரட் போளி



Ingredients :

Carrot Poli | Sweet Carrot Stuffed Boli | Sweet Carrot Puran boli | கேரட் போளி

Carrot - 1 cup (grated)
Khoya - 1/2 cup (or sweetened Khoya)
Sugar - 4 tsp
Cardamom Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp + required for frying
Milk or Water - 1/4 cup

Dough :

Maida - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste
Required Water.


Method :

Steps to make dough : (shown in above image)
  • Combine Ghee (melted), Maida and required Salt in a bowl. Mix well.
  • Add required Water and knead into soft dough. keep aside for 30mins.

Steps to make Carrot Stuff / Carrot Puran : (shown in above image)
  • Saute Carrot with 1 tbsp of Ghee for 3mins until raw smell leaves.
  • Add Khoya, Milk or Water and Sugar (for sweetened khoya, no need to add sugar), mix well.
  • Stirring frequently, cook till Milk reduced and resemble a soft ball, finally add Cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Remove and cool it.

  • Divide the Carrot Stuff / Puran and Dough into 5 equal parts.

Steps to make Carrot Poli :
  • Take one part of dough, flatten in to small circle by using hand and place one part of Carrot Stuff (shown in above image 1).
  • Then bring all the sides together and seal it (shown in above image 2).
  • Roll out into thin circle using flour or oil (shown in above image 3). Repeat this for the rest of the dough.
  • Finally cook on hot tawa using Ghee, cook until done on both side and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Samosa or Puffs
