Curd Rice | Buttery Curd Rice | தயிர் சாதம்


Ingredients :

Curd Rice | Buttery Curd Rice | தயிர் சாதம்

Raw Rice / Ponni Pachai Arisi - 1/2 cup (soaked half an hour)
Boiled Milk - 1 and 1/2 cup 
Curd - 1/4 cup
Butter - 1 tbsp
Green Chili - 1 no (chopped)
Ginger - 1 tsp (chopped)
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Water - 2 cups
Salt to Taste

Method :

Curd Rice | Buttery Curd Rice | தயிர் சாதம்

  • Pressure cook raw rice / ponni pachai arisi with 2 cups of water for 1 whistle and 5mins in simmer.
  • When all the steam escaped, open pressure cooker and mix well.

  • Then add butter and mix well.
  • Add curd and again mix well.
  • Add Milk and mix well.
  • Parallely temper mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida, green chili, ginger and curry leaves. Mix them with curd rice.
  • Finally add coriander leaves and mix well, ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Pickle.
