Cheese Straws | Cheddar Cheese Straws | Snacks


Ingredients :

Cheese Straws | Cheddar Cheese Straws | Snacks

Maida - 200 gm
Butter - 100 gm (cold, cut into small pieces)
Cheddar Cheese - 100 gm (finely grated, room temperature)
Egg Yolk - 1 no (room temperature)
Cayenne or Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp

Method :

  • In a bowl, add maida, butter, cayenne and salt.
  • Rub it with fingertips until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add egg yolk and cheese, mix well and make a stiff dough (use cold water if required).
  • Refrigerator the dough for 45min.

  • Preheat the oven on convection mode at 180 degree celsius.
  • Then roll out the dough thinly and cut into strips of about 5" long and 1/4" wide using some flour.
  • Place on baking tray with butter paper.
  • Bake for 10 to 15min until light golden brown colour.
  • Remove it and cool completely on a rack and store in a air-tight container.
