Mullu Murukku | முள்ளு முறுக்கு



Ingredients :

Mullu Murukku | முள்ளு முறுக்கு

Raw Rice Flour - 1/2 cup
Bengal Gram Flour - 1/2 cup
Roasted Gram - 1/2 cup
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Omam - 1 tsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Hot Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • Grind roasted gram into fine powder and keep aside.
  • Also heat enough oil for deep fry the murukku.

Steps To Make Mullu Murukku :
  • To make murukku dough, combine all ingredients (rice flour, bengal gram flour, roasted gram flour, red chili powder, oman, ghee, hot oil and salt) in a bowl and mix well.
  • Add required water and knead into soft dough.

  • Take some dough, fill the dough in murukku maker using star disc.
  • Press the handle directly into the hot oil in a circular motion, cook on both sides in medium flame until light brown colour. (shown in above image).
  • For beginners, make the murukku on laddles and drop them in oil one by one.
  • Do the same procedure for the remaining dough.
  • Allow to cool and store in a air-tight container.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Ladoo's or Gulab Jamun.
