Sigappu Arisi Pidi Kozhukattai | சிகப்பு அரிசி  பிடி கொழுக்கட்டை | Vinayagar / Ganesh Chaturthi Recipe



Ingredients :

Sigappu Arisi Pidi Kozhukattai | சிகப்பு அரிசி  பிடி கொழுக்கட்டை | Vinayagar / Ganesh Chaturthi Recipe

Red Rice Flour - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Coconut Shreds - 1/2 cup
Moong Dal - 1 tbsp (split & skinless)
Cardamom - 3 pods (crushed or powder)

Method :

  • Dry roast red rice flour for an minute, stirring continuously and keep aside.
  • Dry roast moong dal until aroma rise and keep aside.
  • Dissolve jaggery in boiling water (1/4 cup) and drain it.

Steps to make pidi Kozhukattai :
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mix well and make pidi kozhukattai.
  • Steam in idly pan for 15 min in medium flame and ready to serve.

Today i tried it. Taste was delicious. I felt the moong dhall should be cooked in little water because while eating the moong dhall is hard to bite.

Actually I used roasted moong dal, so it is hard to bite. For that case soak the roasted moong dal for half an hour and than use for soft texture.
