Ingredients :

Avocado Poori | Butterfruit Puri | Vennai Pazham Poori / வெண்ணைய் பழம் பூரி | Indian deep fried bread

Avocado - 1 no (ripe, pulp)
Maida / All Purpose Flour - 2 cup (+ or -)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil / Ghee - 1 tbsp
Salt To Taste
Oil for deep fry.

Method :

  • First grind avocado / butterfruit into fine paste.

  • Combine avocado pulp, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, oil/ghee and required salt with maida (+ or -), don't add water, knead into soft dough and set aside for 30min.

  • Then divide the dough into small ball (approx., 2") and roll into circle, it should not be too thin and too thick.
  • Then drop a small piece of dough into the hot oil, it should fry immediately and comes up to the surface, then keep the flame into medium, then drop the poori / puri, when it comes to the surface, gently press it using ladle to puff it up, cook till golden brown colour on both side and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Butter Mutter Paneer Masala.
