Ingredients :

Agathi Keerai Poriyal | அகத்தி கீரை பொரியல் | Humming Brid Tree Leaves Poriyal

Agathi Keerai - 1 bunch (washed)
Shallots \ Small Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut Shreds - 2 tbsp
Garlic - 5 clove (crushed)
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu - 1/4 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

  • Pressure cook the pasi paruppu / moong dal for 1 whistle with turmeric powder, water and required salt.
  • When all the steam has escaped, open the pressure cooker pan and keep aside.

Steps To Make Agathi Keerai Poriyal :
  • Temper mustard seeds and urad dal in a hot oil in kadai \ pan.
  • After splutter add onion, garlic and dry red chili, saute until the onion become light brown colour.
  • Add washed agathi keerai, saute for about 5 to 7min in medium flame or until done.
  • In between add required salt and mix well.

  • Add pressure cooked dal and mix well.
  • Add coconut shreds, again mix well and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Drumstick Sambar or Dal Recipe
