Ingredients :

Kovakkai Poriyal | கோவைக்காய் பொரியல் | Ivy Gourd Poriyal

Kovakkai / Ivy Gourd - 250 gm
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Fennel Seeds Powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

  • Wash the kovakkai \ ivy gourd, remove the edges and cut into lengthwise.

Steps To Make Kovakkai Poriyal :
  • Marinate the kovakkai \ ivy gourd with red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, fennel seeds powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, required salt and curry leaves for about 10min.

  • Heat the oil in a kadai / pan, add in marinated kovakkai \ ivy gourd, cook for about 12 minute to 15 minute in simmer, stirring frequently or until done. (no need to add water)

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar or Curd Rice.
