Morris Banana Cake | வாழைப்பழம் கேக் | Vazhai Pazham Cake





Ingredients :

Morris Banana - 2 no (small size and ripened)
Maida \ All Purpose Flour - 3/4 cup + extra for dusting
Egg - 1 no
Sugar - 1/2 cup (powdered)
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cooking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp + 1/2 tsp
Fresh Cream - 2 tbsp
Walnut - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Salt - pinch 

Method :

Steps To Make Banana Cake :
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius.
  • Grease and dust the sides of 7" baking tin, also line the base with butter paper / parchment paper and set aside. (Image 1)
  • Sieve together maida, baking powder, cooking soda and salt for 2 to 3 times and keep aside.

  • Mix oil and fresh cream together with whisk or beater til combined. (Image 2 and 3)
  • Add in egg and again beat until well combined and set aside. (Image 4 and 5)

  • Grind the banana and sugar til watery and transfer into mixing bowl. (Image 6 and 7)
  • Slowly pour the oil-egg mixture into the sugared bananas, bit by bit and beat for 1 or 2minutes. (Image 8 and 9)

  • Add the flour mixture, mix them and beat for few seconds. (Image 10)
  • Pour the batter into prepared tin and sprinkle over walnuts. (Image 11)
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes (time varies for larger quantity and tin size) or until done. (Image 12)
  • Take a cake by inserting a toothpick or knife in the middle, it should comes out clean.
  • Then remove the cake from the oven, cool for 10mins and turn out,  then remove the parchment paper, cool completely and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve warm with Ice Cream.
