Easy Coconut Rice | தேங்காய் சாதம் | Thengai Saatham



Ingredients :

Easy Coconut Rice | தேங்காய் சாதம் | Thengai Saatham

Cooked Raw Rice - 1 and 1/2 cup
Coconut Shreds - 1/2 cup
Cashew-nuts - 10 no
Bengal Gram - 2 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 2 no
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make Thengai Saatham :
  • Temper mustard seeds in hot oil in a kadai \ frying pan.
  • After splutter add in bengal gram, urad dal, dry red chili and curry leaves, saute til the bengal gram becomes light brown colour. (Image 1)
  • Add in coconut and cashew-nuts, mix well and saute for half a minute or til the coconut aroma rise. (Image 3)
  • Add cooked raw rice, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 4 and 5)

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Crispy Potato Fry.
