Mutton Kebab | மட்டன் கபாப் | Goat Meat Patties



Ingredients :

Mutton Kebab | மட்டன் கபாப் | Goat Meat Patties

To Marinate :

Mutton Keema - 150 gm (minced goat meat)
Onion - 1 tbsp (grated)
Ginger - 1/2 tsp (grated)
Hung Curd - 1 tsp
Saffron - 1 pinch (crushed and soaked in a teaspoon of warm milk)
Green Chili - 1 no (finely chopped)
Badam \ Almonds - 6 no (chopped)
Salt to Taste.

Masala : (1/2 tsp only required)

Cardamom - 6 no
Cloves - 10 no
Pepper - 3/4 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp 
Mace - 1/2 no
Nutmeg Powder - 1/2 tsp 
Cinnamon Stick - 1"

Others :

Cornflour - 1 tbsp
Ghee for fry.

Method :

Steps To Make Masala Powder :
  • Dry roast the mentioned ingredients except the nutmeg powder in hot kadai \ frying pan over simmer. (Image 1)
  • Remove from the flame and add in nutmeg powder, mix well and allow to cool completely. (Image 2)
  • Grind into powder. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Sift the masala powder and store in a air-tight container, since this recipe required 1/2tsp only.

Steps To Make Kebab :
  • Combine the mentioned marinate ingredients with 1/2 tsp of roasted masala powder for 30minutes. (Image 5 and 6)

  • After marinate, add cornflour and mix well. (Image 7)
  • Divide the meat into 7 or 8 balls and then flat into 3/4 inch think patties. (Image 8)
  • Shallow fry them in hot tawa, cook over low heat for 3 to 4 mins on both sides and ready to serve. (Image 9 and 10)

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Lemon Wedges or Curd Mint Chutney.
