Potato Poriyal with Coconut | உருளைக்கிழங்கு பொரியல் | Urulai Kizhangu Poriyal


Ingredients :

Potato Poriyal with Coconut | உருளைக்கிழங்கு பொரியல் | Urulai Kizhangu Poriyal

Boiled Potatoes - 250gm (skin peeled, bite size chopped)
Coconut Shreds - 1/4 cup
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make Potato Poriyal with Coconut :
  • Mix boiled potato with red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder and required salt, keep aside. (Image 1 and 2)
  • To make poriyal, heat oil in a kadai \ frying pan, temper mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add curry leaves and saute for few seconds. (Image 3)
  • Add boiled potato-masala mixture and saute for about 5minutes in simmer, until raw smell leaves. (Image 4)

  • Add coriander leaves and mix well. (Image 5)
  • Finally add coconut shreds, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 6 and 7)

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar Rice and Rasam.
