Simple and Easy - Idli Podi | இட்லி பொடி


Ingredients :

Urad Dal - 1/2 cup
Dry Red Chili - 3 to 5 no
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Salt to Taste.

Steps To Make Idli Podi :
  • Dry roast the urad dal and red chili in hot kadai for 5mins (+ or -) over simmer or until the light brown colour. (Image 1)
  • Add asafoetida and curry leaves and saute for about 2mins. (Image 2)
  • Add salt and saute for few seconds, remove from the flame and allow to cool completely. (Image 3 and 4)

  • Then grind all the roasted ingredients into powder and store in a air tight container box.
  • Self life is around 3months.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Idli and Dosai.
