Ingredients :

Munthiri Vazhai Poo Kozha Urundai | Cashews Plantain Flower Balls
Vazhai Poo | Plantain Flower - 1 and 1/2 cup (chopped, immersed in buttermilk)
Shallots - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 no (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Cahew-nuts - 1/4 cup (coarsely ground)
Roasted Gram Flour | Pottu Kadalai Maavu - 2 tbsp
Oil for deep fry + 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Steps To Make The Vazhai Poo Kozha Urundai :

  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a hot kadhai \ frying pan, saute the vazhai poo \ plantain flower till the moisture reduced completely and allow to cool completely (Image 1)
  • Then grind the sauteed vazhai poo \ plantain flower with shallots, green chili, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and required salt coarsely. (Image 2 and 3)
  • Mix with the remaining ingredients (cashews, roasted gram flour and coriander leaves). (Image 4)
  • Divide the mixture into 8 to 10 balls. (Image 5)
  • Then deep fry the balls in hot oil till golden brown colour and ready to serve. (Image 6)
