Ingredients :

Vendakkai \ Okra \ Bhindi - 150 gm (1" long)
Beaten Curd - 1 cup
Coconut - 1/4 cup (chopped)
Green Chilli - 3 no
Cumin Seeds - 3/4 tsp
Raw Rice - 2 tsp (soaked 1 hr)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp + 2 tsp
Dry Red Chilli - 2 no
Salt to Taste.

  • Grind the coconut with green chilli, cumin seeds and soaked rice into fine paste with required water and keep aside. (Image 1 and 2)

Steps To Make The Vendakkai Mor Kuzhambu :

  • Heat oil in a utensil and saute the vendakkai \ okra for 5minutes over simmer. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Add the ground coconut paste and turmeric powder, saute for few seconds. (Image 5)
  • Pour the water and add required salt, mix well and bring to boil, then cook for 5minutes over simmer. (Image 6)

  • After 5minutes, turn off the flame, then add the beaten curd and mix well. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Separately, temper the mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add the dry red chilli and curry leaves, mix well. (Image 9)
  • Transfer the tempered ingredients into the curry, again mix well and ready to serve. (Image 10)
