Maangai \ Raw Mango - 1/2 no (medium size, grated)
Cooked Rice - 1 and 1/2 cup
Cashew-nuts - 10 no
Green Chilli - 1 no (slit)
Dry Red Chilli - 1 no
Bengal Gram \ Kadhalai Paruppu - 1 tbsp
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/8 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Steps To Make The Maangai Saadham \ Raw Mango Rice :

  • Heat oil in a kadhai \ pan, temper the mustard seeds, after splutter add the bengal gram and urad dal, saute till the dal becomes light brown colour. (Image 1)
  • Stir in the asafoetida, turmeric powder, green chilli, dry red chilli, cashew nuts and curry leaves. (Image 2)
  • Then add in the grated maangai \ raw mango and required salt, saute for an minute or till it becomes very soft. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Add in the cooked rice and mix well, remove from the flame and ready to serve. (Image 5 and 6)
