Ingredients :

Banganapalli Mango - 1 no (2" long)
Curd - 1 cup
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Green Chili - 2 no
Red Chili Powder -1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Rice - 1 tbsp (soaked half an hour)
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Mambalam Moru Kuzhambu :

  • Cook the mango pieces with half cup of water along with turmeric powder, red chili powder, required salt for 5mins over simmer. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Meantime, grind the coconut with soaked rice, green chili and cumin seeds into fine paste with required water and keep aside. (Image 3 and 4)

  • Then add the ground coconut paste into the boiling mango, add 1/4 cup of water and mix all, cook for about 2mins or till the coconut paste raw smell leaves. (Image 5 and 6)
  • Add in the beaten curd, mix all and remove from the flame. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Separately temper the mustard seeds and urad dal in the hot oil, after splutter add in the curry leaves, dry red chili and asafoetida, saute few seconds and transfer the tempered ingredients into the curry, mix all and ready to serve.
