Easy Palak Keerai Thengai Paal Kootu | Spinach Coconut Milk Kootu

Ingredients :

Palak Keerai Kootu
Palak Keerai \ Spinach - 1 cup (chopped)
Green Gram - 1/4 cup (skinless, split)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Onion - 1 no
Green Chili - 2 no (split)
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 2 cloves (mashed)
Coconut Milk - 1 and 1/2 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Palak Keerai Kootu :

  • First pressure cook the green gram with turmeric powder and a cup of water for 1 whistle and 5mins over simmer, when the steam released, open the pan and keep aside. (Image 1)
  • To make kootu, heat oil in a kadhai \ pan, temper the cumin seeds, after splutter add the onion and green chili, saute till the onion becomes translucent. (Image 2)
  • Add in the palak and saute until its shrinks and then add the cooked green gram and mix altogether. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Pour the coconut milk and add required salt, mix well and boil for 2mins, remove from the flame and ready to serve. (Image 5 and 6)
